Wa~Ha~Ha! [BJD]

 

Strange title, I know. But when I think of Yuya, I think of Kanjani8 for some reason. Hmmm. Well his wig (and a new top) came in the mail finally! I was super excited to finally have him in his wig. It's a synthetic wig that I purchased from ebay. However, it sheds. A lot. Right now it's holding up but I'm worried about him developing bald spots in the future haha that would be pretty tragic for my little japanese schoolboy. He already gets bullied! I turned his photographs into a little adventure photostory aside from the one shown here....

White X'Mas [BJD]

IT SNOWED! IS SNOWING! WILL SNOW MORE! SNOW! -runs around flailing about the perfect white untouched snow that she can frolick in for many months to come- So. As ya'll know, I'm in Nebraska. And it'll get super cold here for winter. We're expected the snow to stay until March, when winter is long done. So whatever. I can live with that. Snow is awesome right? And well, it makes for pretty BJD related pictures. Which is awesome! Cause, this means I can take Ash outside. Which is sort of awesome although I'm still super wary of other people and their reactions to Ash. I've had my fair share of weird experiences with people - some awesomely positive and some scarringly negetive. It's a shame since... well... it's my hobby and it doesn't hurt other people but... sometimes they take it upon themselves to remark on it in a way that's hurtful.

ANYWAYS! I took him outside, along with my friend Anton, and took some pictures of him. I took over fifty pictures but I managed to skim this down to a nice 18. I'll post them all here, a few on Flickr and then cross post to Angel-Unlimited. The UK BJD forum I happen to be on. I might also add a few to the Omaha group as well. I feel bad posting so many pictures of Ash there but he's my only doll I have here... so far ;D

Babyface [BJD]

So Ash got a new hoodie recently (like he needs it) and it's gorgeous. I commissioned kuroi~carousel from DOA to make him one of her standard hoodies but with a fur trim. I finally got around to taking some pictures of him in it today so enjoy the selection under the read more. I'd just like to mention how wonderful kruoi~carousel is and her clothing is amazing quality. Simply wonderful.

BOKEH ALL THE THINGS [PHOTO] [IMG HEAVY]

Yes. Bokeh. That wonderful word that describes the blurry background your lens creates when focusing on the foreground. So I recently [read: Monday] got some filter zoom lens for my camera. I was curious about these through stumbling across other doll related stuff. Someone else mentioned using them and I checked them out. Being pleased with what I saw, I skipped over the ebay and got myself a set for 4 for little over $10. Free shipping. Happy days! So I have a few random shots I took in my room and hopefully I get to test them outside soon~

Say No [BJD]

About time I had another BJD post right? Damn straight. I feel as though it's been far too long since the last time I took pictures of Ash. I still don't want to take him outside and take pictures, alone, since I don't know how other people will react to him. To the people I've exposed him to - thank you. You've been gracious in how you've um... handled it? I suppose that is a good way to put it. At least, if you didn't like him you've been nice about it. I can appreciate that it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea. I get that, trust me. But I do adore BJDs and I love showing them off.

In case this is your first time hearing about BJD and you've no idea what it is, have a google definititon.

A ball-jointed doll is any doll that is articulated with ball and socket joints. In contemporary usage when referring to modern dolls, and particularly when using the acronyms BJD or ABJD, it usually refers to modern Asian ball-jointed dolls.^[1] These are cast in polyurethane synthetic resin, a hard, dense plastic, and the parts strung together with a thick elastic. You & I [BJD]

Anyways~ I figured, after what was a fun morning (man, I'm so tired now!) I would take a few pictures of Ash. Actually there was a lot more than what's shown here but alas, you know how it is. I had to weed out a few bad ones. I don't have anything to edit pictures right now and honestly I don't like doing that. At most I'll resize and maybe touch up sharpening. It's too much effort to do more than that. That being said I have posted more heavily edited pictures but... yeah...

I should blog more... [MISC/BJD]

I haven't been blogging all that much and honestly, there isn't a lot for me to talk about that hasn't be posted in various other places. I'm always on Twitter or Facebook (being more active on Facebook as a lot of internationals are on there). I haven't had a chance to take pictures of Ash and I'm a little wary about taking him outside. Omaha is too far away to make regular meets there but I should still try and integrate with the doll community there - after all, I'm living in Nebraska for a while!

Ah Nebraska, I was supposed to keep a blog on that as well but... nothing significant ever happens for me to blog about it. I'm just a normal girl going to class everyday. I'm studying Feminism Theories, East Asian History, Japanese language and then Japanese Culture too. I actually have a quiz to study for E.Asian History but oh look, I'm on here blogging instead. There was a poster sake today as well so I bought a Japan one (same as I have at home!) and a doctor who one.

I've actually got some stuff arriving in the post. I finally ordered from Threadless. Oh wait, I need to insert a read more here...

Guess Who? [BJD]

I was staring at him today thinking, damn, I haven't taken photos of anyone in a lonngggg time. I feel superbad for neglecting them in this way, I don't mean to though. Sometimes life carries you away and time just goes on. Ever get that feeling? I seem to always make plans for all these wonderful things I'll do over the summer and before you know it half of August is gone and you've no idea what you have to show for it. Aside from preparing for America and everything that goes with that, I can't say I've really do anything productive with my summer. I've done plenty of little things - joined BNATION / became moderator, became somewhat Tumblr famous (craycray tumblr people, I don't even...) and just generally little things that don't impact the bigger picture.

Sorry, I seemed to have gone off on a ramble when really I just meant to show off some pictures I took of Ash! As usual expect more under the read more.

Shining Light [BJD]

Okay. let's completely ignore the fact that Parcelforce made me pay £42.34 for something I already owned. I'm not welcoming anyone posting here about how I should fight Parcelforce for the money. In my views, even though I'm not happy, Ash's head DID get to me safely. He was insured for $200 for a reason. That aside, I shall proceed to gush over the gorgeous that is my doll. Meggilu did a FANASTIC job. His teeth are so cute! So I couldn't take him out today for pictures, which is disappointing, but I was able to take a few indoor pictures. I find it hard to vary my photograph locations sometimes... yes, even in a big house like this one!

I'll post pictures under the cut and also will be posting a second blog post after this one to show off some KAT-TUN items that came in the post for me and also some DVDs! I find that variety is nice when it comes to blogging and I'm happy to see how my blog has developed over the past few months from being solely about BJDs to incorporating more hobbies I enjoy!

Also, it never ceases to amaze me how many pictures I would take... and end up with only five or six good ones to show off... but I also love this! I'm rather fussy about my photography and so it takes me a while to choose what I like. I'd like to think I am getting better though...

It's been a while... [KPOP/JPOP/BJD]

Hi guys sorry I haven't updated much. Actually, A LOT has happened since I last blogged. I got my macbook pro, Ash is coming back now from his faceup with Meggilu and I got more CDs! -rejoices- Part of which is also Clair's birthday present which I now need to wrap. I'm totally going to make a video of that to prove to her that I wrap presents myself muwhaha. I've also gotten a load more DVDs. So once I watch a few of the Asian ones, I'll make a post/video about those!

So I make box opening videos of CDs I get. It's kinda a 'thing' that started between me and David (twitter friend) after we found out people actually make box openings of... well... everything! It surprised me! I honestly thought it was just a BJD thing. So in the videos posted behind the read more cut thing, I have me opening two parcels of Kpop CDs, going through and talking a bit about Kpop. I then show my CD collection, which is something I *think* Claudia asked me to do. She's a super cool VIP/Blackjack from Northern Ireland. You can follow her here (blog) and here (twitter). We Shouldn't See Each Other Anymore [BJD]

I got some fantastic news today that my finance was finally sorted. This has been something of an ongoing battle over the past two years and finally its all smoothed out. I had been talking with a friend about getting another SD sized doll if my grant allows for it and I written in the left side bar which on I'm getting (and in various posts before!). I just thought I would take this opportunity to talk about his character history and where the idea of his character came from - that sort of thing.

A Parcel from CHINA [BJD]

Today some stuff I had ordered from Ebay had arrived for Ash. I highly reccommend that you that a look at what mybayer2008 as I find anything I buy is always of high quality and the prices are reasonable as well. I've ordered both SD and MSD sized clothing (for Ash, my old Kanguk & my MNF). Fitting is always perfect and the material is lovely. I've never had a bad experience with this. This time around I ordered SD jeans for Ash as he badly needs his own trousers as well as two pairs of glass eyes. I intend to have the blue ones for Ash but bought another pair for a future SD boy (although I will try them in Ash as well and if I prefer them, he'll keep them.)

Brb giving it to his Y [BJD]

I know these are on my Flickr. And I know I posted them on Den of Angels too. People are curious about Haz and to be honest, I'm confused as to why there aren't a lot more of these guys running around Den of Angels. Just me? The only other Haz owner I know of is someone I found on dA (though I'm pretty sure she has a DOA account?). There certainly ARE more of him somewhere. Since he was released as a limited doll to begin with and well... he obviously sold out... Anyways. When people are looking for various photographs of sculpt and poses and stuff... I obviously have no idea what they want and take a million pictures of the same thing. Yes, he still doesn't have a faceup. He'll be sent away for his faceup soon... I hope...

Well I took about 19 photos today because a lot of people ask to see this sculpt, especially since he is blank at the moment. He'll be packed up after this into a shipping box.

I has a Haz [BJD]

I finally got to finish opening my Haz. The wait was bareable! I was so surprised! I expected I would be clawing the walls haha. I was working twelve hours on Saturday so I supposed that help to pass the time. I also doodled him on a scrap receipt nearer the end of my shift.

I've just put Haz into my SD doll carrier -squees- and he's ready to be opened on Sunday with my doll friends. I can NOT state enough how amazing a company Crobidoll are. Not only did Haz ship within two weeks, they also sent a little surprise along with Haz (something I didn't expect. At all. Omfg, I love it so so much).

After only nine days of waiting, my first second SD boy is on his way home. Holycrap Crobidoll that's amazing. Including weekends I've still only waited 13 days! Usually it would take a company 20 to 40 days to ship [unless there is a back log etc]. Wow. Just wow. I need to buy him some clothes, stat!

Those Gorgeous Clothes...

I find its hard enough saving up for a doll, then you have to think about wigs and eyes and clothes and shoes... maybe their faceup as well if they were ordered without a company one. It never ends, these tiny drains on our resources. You want the best for your dolls, don't you? I'm always at a loss when I look at my dolls and I think, "Hmm... he needs his eyes and wig... and she needs her new wig... and he needs a new wig... they all need clothes..." I feel like it never ends. In the works are Jo Jo's new wig, Kan's new eyes and Chu's new eyes. Of course Chu, Kan and Jaesun all need new wigs as well. And then there's clothes... but of course... I've ordered an SD as well.

Thankfully I ordered Ash with his wig. All I have to worry about are eyes and clothes etc. Usually I'm happy enough buying clothes from Dollmore but then... Crobi themselves have GORGEOUS clothes that I know I want for Ash and Jeremy. Which reminds me, more on Jeremy later... I love 9Ninestyle clothes as well. Last year when I had my first SD, he was completely spoiled. I spent a lot of money on wigs and clothes for him, even bought him jointed hands! I know this time that I can't go completely over the top. I need to consider I have four MSDs that all need to be sorted. Before I go away in August, I would like for them all to have their proper eyes and wigs. Jo Jo is going to have gorgeous dark, long hair. She's supposed to come across as being a bitch and bit girlier now. Then Chu needs pinkish eyes and this bleach-blonde and pink wig I've eyed up from Usagihime. Not to mention the fact I'm waiting on his bunny parts to be shipped. I've spent $200 on them, I hope this work out!

Kan needs new eyes. Glass at the very least. I'm ordering from Captured in Glass to get Kan, Chu & Ash their eyes. He needs a new wig as well, the one he has is really patchy and not well made. I want to get him a lovely fur wig, blonde of course. I don't mind experimenting with the shade a little. And then Jaesun. He has his look pretty much finished. I just need to replace the lost wig -chuckles-. Can't believe I lost his wig!! The perils of traveling on bus!

Well. I've come to terms with the fact I just won't have money in time to get him. I'm being back paid my student grant from this year but it still has to be finalized. So, which lucky sculpt have I chosen for him now? Well, if any of you do any sort of detective work online (come on, we all stalk every once in a while) you would know I mentioned it was another Crobi boy. How could I resist. I had looked at this sculpt time and time again. I had talked myself out of getting him, bouncing from him to Tei over and over again. Finally I had settled on Haz (love at first sight *¬*) but now I know he's perfect for Jeremy. It that darn adorable face!

Yes,Nia is my new Jeremy. Of course, if by a miracle I have everything sorted in time I would still consider getting the limited Lance but at the same time, HE'S SO CUTE *¬* I'll get him without a faceup and comission someone else to do it. I loveeee his faceup but the way Crobi paint his lips is just odd haha. Along with him I hope to order some clothes and his wig too. -squees- I haven't been so excited about this hobby in a long time. Honestly, I -was- excited about getting Chu but there was a damper put on the whole thing that made me sad about getting him as well. But thats in the past and I love him to pieces now! Just need to finish my bunny boy! He'll be needing a new faceup and all.


I love how you can flip-flop so much in this Hobby in the run up to buying a doll haha. I know plenty of people who have made last minute decisions and not regretted them. I'm one of them!


Final Note: I want all the new gorgeous Crobi clothes... and then some  TT__TT -moths fly out of wallet-

So I bought a new doll...

And cause I'm a dork I went onto TinierGoodies.com and made up what Aa Shu (Ash) should look like.

As soon as Crobi released Haz I released two things 1. If that isn't a 'fandoll' of JGS in Mae Ri Stayed Out All Night / Marry Me, Mary! then I don't know what is 2. OMFG I HAVE TO HAVE HIM, ITS A JGS-ESQUE DOLL AND TOTALLY FITS A CHARACTER OF MINEEEE. And thus, I had to have him. How could I not? JGS was my first Korean Ultimate Bias (these be srs business to fangirls) until Seungho came bopping along.I'm actually not one to have characters for dolls already so I tweaked the character in mind (Furuya Hiro) and made him into Aa Shu, my Korean Singer who is breaking into the Japanese market with his latest single. He is MASSIVE in SK. I'll do him a proper bio later. I just... -squees- I can't believe he's on his way to me! My second SD and hopefully this one sticks! HE'S SO FLUFFY I'M GOING TO DIEEE!!

Much spazzing, I apologise. I'm still kinda in shock and realllly sick right now with the cold. So much so, I'm contemplating calling in sick to work. I mean, who wants to be served at a till by someone who is dying? Then again, I need the monies :/ Gah.

Also, Ash's love interest Minyoung should be a AS Kana.... but yeah :/ Me and Clair spent ages looking for the perfect SD girl and Clair showed me Kana. This was now months ago. I need to save better haha. I think it will be a LONG time before I get his girlfriend sorted (his father is convinced he's homosexual due to his long hair...). I am on the lookout for other SD girls who might be perfect with Haz. Minyoung is a tomboy through and through. And one of his biggest fans teehee. Good thing she's so happy go lucky and bubbly, she has to put up with Ash. He happens to be rather moody and unimpressed with a lot of people. He has a sweet side, just takes a while for him to show it...

Ash's korean name is now Shinyu.

His father is still Gunwoo.

He now has a best friend in the limited Crobi sculpt called Jeremy Moon.

A small update! I'm am collectively saving for Shunsuke (DZ Mo3 in Tan) as the final member of ROMEO EFFECT and Aa Shu (Ash) a Crobidoll Haz - my first (technically 2nd) SD boy!! My wantums are too much to ignore now! I LOVE Haz's look and he reminds me of Jane Geun Suk's character from Mae Ri Stayed Out All Night! Which, I really have to watch. Oh and JGS was in You're Beautiful too >.>

Shunsuke will be a completely new character for his role but Aa Shu is a combination of a AJOO character I had (Lee Shinho) and a Jang Geun Suk character I had (Furuya Hiro). SO EXCITED!! 

Wish me luck! I have a little box to keep money in and a spreadsheet all worked out! Hopefully I can start saving now even though I have Chu's parts to pay off (First payment sent!)
